Sometimes something shows up online and everybody seems to have an answer before anyone has the full story.

You step into a story with the crew, look at what they know, check their sources and decide what you would do next.

It started after class.

Gia and Mateo met in a college class called Children, Youth, and Digital Culture. They kept arguing about the things people were posting, sharing and getting wrong long after class ended.

Eventually the conversation moved upstairs to a room above a bookshop in Fort Greene. Friends from school, work and the neighborhood started coming too. Everybody noticed different things.

The Common Room became the place they went when something didn’t make sense yet.

The stories change. The process stays familiar.

You’re allowed to change your mind when the evidence changes. That’s part of the point.

    Try the skill on a short example before using it in the case.

    Decide what the evidence supports, then write the message the crew needs.

Sometimes it starts as “wait, that makes no sense.” That’s enough. Bring the screenshot, the rule, the weird email, the rumor, the first paycheck, the campus post everybody is arguing about. We’ll start there.
