About Next of Us

People behind
the work.

From Nasaiah

I’m Nasaiah, a Puerto Rican and Cape Verdean senior at American University studying Public Relations & Strategic Communication and Education Studies. A lot of my work comes back to helping people find opportunities and figure out where they can get involved. Through student organizations, university advisory groups, and community leadership, I’ve seen how much it helps to have someone explain how things work and make an introduction. With Next of Us, I want more students to have that kind of support as they find their interests, build their confidence, and take on something new.

From Anaida

I’m Anaida, a senior at George Washington University in Washington, DC, studying Criminal Justice & Political Science. Leadership should leave room for who we are, not just what we do. I want Next of Us to be a place where students feel heard, supported, and comfortable being themselves. As someone of Cuban and Polish heritage, I care about students from underrepresented communities having the support to grow as leaders without feeling they have to leave part of themselves behind.

How we came together

Built by students.
For students.

We became close friends in college while getting involved in leadership on and off campus. Next of Us brings together what we’ve learned, the different skills we bring, and our shared interest in helping other students find their place and get involved.
