Once you've agreed on a project, write down who will do each task and when it's due. Check that the dates fit around classes and other commitments, and that everyone has the information and materials they need. At your next meeting, check what's done and what needs to change. If someone is stuck, update the plan together. Don't leave another student guessing whether they're supposed to take over.
Talk it through
- Could each person explain their next task without asking the group again?
- Which task depends on someone else finishing first?
- What should a group member do when a deadline stops being realistic?
Try this next
- Turn the plan into a short list: each task, who will do it and the agreed date.
- Check the order of tasks and add any materials, information or staff input they need.
- Set a brief progress check and record changes where everyone can find them.
