Look back and choose what comes next

Think about what happened and choose one thing to try next time.

After an activity, think about what happened. What did you do? How did other people join in? What changed? Look at something you made, remember a conversation or ask someone what they noticed. Include the hard parts as well as the parts you liked. Then choose one thing to practice, like asking a clearer question or checking a plan sooner. Pick something small you can try next time.

Talk it through

  • What's one thing you did during the activity?
  • What surprised you or went differently than you expected?
  • What's one thing you'd like to practice next time?

Try this next

  1. Pick a recent activity. Say what happened without giving yourself a score.
  2. Ask someone who was there what they noticed. Did you notice the same things?
  3. Pick one small thing to try and decide when you could do it.
