What makes you stop recording?
When somebody is still deciding what they want to say. Silence is not permission to fill in the story for them. Also, when my café shift starts. Rent remains very real.

Gia is African American and Italian, born and raised in Fort Greene. She studies communication at a college in New York, works café shifts and makes audio stories. She met Mateo in Children, Youth, and Digital Culture. Their after-class conversations became an open media night for the block. Her first take is usually sharp.
