In this case, an unsigned notice in an apartment building says the only step-free door will lock at 8 p.m. Your student compared the notice with last year’s building rules and practiced asking who made the new rule.

Questions to talk about

  2. Whom can people ask when a posted rule is unclear?
  3. Why might someone keep a photo of a notice with the date?
